Return and Refund Policy

Southern Horizon Aviation Academy – Return & Refund Policy

At Southern Horizon Aviation Academy (“the Academy”), we are committed to honesty, transparency, and professional training standards. Because flight training requires scheduling of aircraft, instructors, fuel, and resources in advance, our refund policy reflects those operational commitments.

1. General Policy

All sales for flight training, ground school, aircraft rental, memberships, deposits, and course packages are final. Refunds are only granted as outlined below under limited circumstances.

2. Non-Refundable Items

The following are non-refundable under any circumstance:

Non-refundable Course deposits (e.g. $500 accelerated course deposit)

Non-refundable Ground school tuition (after access is granted)

Non-refundable Flight training already conducted

Non-refundable Instructor time already delivered

Non-refundable Autopay fees already charged

Non-refundable Study materials, books, headsets, charts, or supplies

3. Refund Eligibility for Prepaid Blocks / Course Programs

If a student prepays for flight training or an accelerated program and chooses to withdraw prior to the start date, funds may be refunded minus:

  • Any non-refundable deposit

  • Administrative fee of 10%

  • Cost of any materials already issued

  • Any scheduled instructor or aircraft time within 72 hours of cancellation

Once training has begun, unused training funds may only be refunded at the Academy’s discretion or converted to account credit.

4. Account Credit Policy

Refunds are rarely issued; however, account credit may be granted toward future training in these scenarios:

  • Student withdraws for personal reasons with 7+ days written notice before start date

  • Scheduling delays or maintenance prevent reasonable training progress

  • Student switches course types (example: PPL to Instrument)

Account credit may not be transferred or cashed out and expires after 12 months of inactivity unless otherwise approved by the Academy.
