Our History
Southern Horizon Aviation Academy was founded in 2025 with a clear mission: to provide accelerated flight training that is faster, more focused, and more accessible to aspiring pilots across the country. Established by passionate aviators who prioritize proficiency, safety, and real-world skill, the academy aims to bridge the gap between traditional aviation training and outcome-focused flight training.
Location
Located at South Arkansas Regional Airport (KELD), El Dorado provides an ideal setting for accelerated flight training. With uncongested airspace, excellent flying weather, and a supportive aviation community, students at Southern Horizon Aviation Academy benefit from more flight time and real-world experience in less time.
Courses
Private Pilot Finish-Up
A 5-day accelerated flight training course that is tailored for students who have begun their aviation training elsewhere and are now prepared to cross the finish line. Our Private Pilot finish up program offers the necessary structure, aircraft access, and personalized one-on-one instruction to ensure you are check ride ready.
Accelerated Instrument Rating
An 8-day intensive program that focuses on accelerated flight training, particularly IFR procedures, precision flying, and real-world instrument operations. Through a combination of in-aircraft and Redbird simulator training, you'll develop true instrument proficiency and confidence, essential for any condition.
